HDAP CEREMONIAL DISTRIBUTION OF FISHING PARAPHERNALIA FOR THE 3 MUNICIPALITIES (MAMASAPANO, RAJAH BUAYAN and SHARIFF SAYDONA)

Fisheries Livelihood Intervention for Economic Development of Displaced Families

The BFAR-ARMM Maguindanao conducted a Fisheries Livelihood Intervention for Economic Development of Displaced Families through HDAP last August 30, 2016 at Mamasapano, Maguindanao. In Attendance were BFAR-ARMM Regional Director Janice Desamito Musali, Al-hajj, Provincial Fishery Officer Datun M. Nur and Staffs, Admin and Finance Division Chief Alimudin Pendulat, PMED Chief Hairodin Arap , Mayor of Mamasapano Datun Tahirudin Benjar Ampatuan, Municipal Administrator Bai Rebecca Ampatuan, Vice-Mayor of Shariff Saydona Bai Amerah Manalapat and RPDO Representative.

Highlights of the activities were the Distribution of Fishing Paraphernalia in 3 Municipalities of Maguindanao in Mamasapano, 125 Units of Non-Motorized Banca benefitted 125 fisherfolk, 60 Units of Motorized Banca benefitted 60 fishing families Coop. In Shariff Saydona 75 Units of Non-Motorized Banca benefitted 75 Fisherfolk, Partial Fish Coral 110 Cribs benefitted 11 fisherfolk, 1 Unit Community Based Hatchery benefitted by Pulutan Farmers and Fisheries Marketing Coop, 10 Units Floating Fish Cages benefitted 10 Associations/Cooperative . In Rajah Buayan 100 Units Non-Motorized Banca benefitted 100 Fisherfolk, Partial Fish Coral 150 Cribs benefitted 15 Fisherfolk and 1 Unit Community Based Hatchery benefitted Parastaban Hatcherers Fisherfolk Association.

Dir. Janice said ” This program is for the livelihood of fishermen for thier bread and butter. They should take good care and used it for their welfare. We should be proud of our Fisherfolk because they contribute to the Nations’ food.”
